My Nerve-Racking Experience
I was on the truck with my sister, my grandparents were in the cab of the truck about to start the parade; I was nervous because I don’t do well with large crowds all looking at me once. I feel the truck start to move and that’s when I felt like my heart stopped.
It was the summer of 2016, my mom and my sister and I all were heading to my grandparents' house for dinner. We all exit the car and head inside to see that dinner was already done and waiting for us. My grandma enters the room, “come on in we were just waiting!” We all walk to the dining room and pick our chairs and who we want to sit by, I chose to sit by my mom. We all just start to talk about what we did for the past week but then suddenly my grandma gasps like she forgot to tell us something, “Girls we want you to be in the parade with us this upcoming week!” I just sit there thinking no way am I doing this, but my sister goes ahead and answers her, “I would love to do that!” “Good, and how about you Tamia?” My grandma says sounding excited. “I don’t know yet, but I’ll tell you the day before the parade.” I say. My mom interrupts the conversation “You will do the parade, it’s the least you can do.” I Think to myself for a couple seconds, “Ok,” I say sounding hardly excited. We continued eating and chatting till it was time to go.
We arrive at my house finally; I just went straight to my room. I have a week till this stupid parade, and I know that I am going to see people that I know and that is pretty awkward for me. I'm lying in my bed just thing of the parade, I hear a soft knock at my door, my sister walks in and sits on my bed “I know that you are nervous but it's just a parade and as soon as you know it it’ll be over and then we can go on the rides.” she says, “I can't help that I am nervous!” I say with frustration. “Maybe just sleep on it Mia.” My sister says while leaving my room.
The time flew fast, it was already the night before the parade. At this point I had no choice to be in the parade, so I just put my brave face on for the night and hopefully I'll still have it on during the parade. I wake up early the next morning to put on my outfit, then I go to my sisters' room and there she is all dressed up looking excited. “Are you ready?” she asks me, “uh yeah I think.” I murmured under my breath.
Our mom takes us to the location where our float is, our grandparents are waiting for my sister and I making last minute touches. We arrive at the float getting already on top because we were running late, I stand up on it and they hand us a bag of candy to throw out to the kids. “Are you still nervous?” my sister asks. I was nervous because I don’t want to deal with large crowds all looking at me once but then my sister reminds me something that turns my nervousness into excitement and then anxious. “Remember after the parade mom is going to buy us tickets for the fair today so we can go on rides.” after she said that I was throwing candy like I wasn’t nervous, like I wasn’t scared to be up there because I couldn’t wait to be on the fair rides.
The parade was done and not a moment to spare my sister and I rushed our mom to hurry and buy the tickets for the fair. My sister wanted to go on the Zipper, so we did and we went on a whole lot of rides that night till the fireworks came on at the very end of the night.
Personal Narrative Reflection
Please answer all questions in complete, grammatically correct sentences.
1. Explain the process you went through to write this paper. Please be specific. It took me two days to finish this paper and it wasn't that bad to write, it was a simple story that I chose so it could be easier to write.
2. What qualifies this paper as a narrative? What are the requirements for this genre and how did you meet them? This qualifies as a narrative because it is a story about my childhood and what problem I faced and then had solve that problem with a solution.
3.What is one part of your story that you think turned out really well? What do you like about that part?
I liked the flashback, think that is what I described best and did really well on.

God’s Agent
I finally hit the last floor when I was waiting patiently for the elevator to open. When it opens, I hear “your early,” said the Grim Reaper, with a hint of surprise. I grab my bags and shove them into his boney arms, “I’m always early.” I say while taking off my jacket and handing it to the Grim Reaper. “Are you here to stay?” The Grim Reaper says while putting my stuff down. “No, of course not! I’m only here strictly for business. Now where is your bathroom?” I say.
The Grim Reaper points me to the bathroom “Thanks,” I say with a smirk on my face. I start to head to the bathroom, I hear my high heels click clatting on the floor, I pause and stop to look at the ground and turn up towards where the Grim Reaper was standing, “you have really nice floors for hell.” I turn back around trying to think of a plan for my return to the above world is what I like to call it, maybe after I talk to the boss, I will take what I need and then poof! I am gone. As I make my little plan in my head, I start to notice a shadow creeping on the walls and the shiny marble floors. I notice the bathroom and run ever so lightly so my heels don’t rat me out with the click clat sound from beneath them. I see the bathroom and run into one of the stalls, it’s a communal bathroom, so whatever was out in the halls was in here with me now. A tall dark red figure is what I see from the crack of the stall. I want to run out of the bathroom, so I’m not lait with the boss, but I don’t want to expose myself for being a human. I was sent here to make a deal with the boss, I am supposed to give him a flash drive with important information on it but I need it more than him so after I give him the flash drive I have to steal it back and make an escape plan.
The thing I saw in the bathroom just left so I opened the stall and washed my hands so I'm not suspicious, I go to grab a cloth for my hands when I hear on the other side of the door a deep groan, maybe even a deep laugh. I walk to the door and open it a tad bit and it’s the boss turned around talking to the Grim Reaper. I open the door wider and greet him, he turns around with a big nightmarish grin, it’s the devil.
“So, the Grim Reaper was telling me you are here for me?” He said. “Yes, I am here to give you the flash drive and make a deal with you and your staff.” I say trying to sound confident while talking to the devil. He says follow me, and I was guessing to his office. I felt like I have walked fifteen minutes just to get to his office, but we finally manage to get there. He points to one of his chairs in his office and tells me sit, I’m not a dog I think to myself. First off what was that flash drive thing you were asking about earlier?” he asks. “Well my boss said you wanted it and you would do anything to have it.” I say, “Yes, I would do anything for that flash drive, but I want to know it is no fake and it is 100% real.” He started to sound furious with me. “Well maybe you don’t want it that bad!” I say trying to get him interested in what I was proposing. “Give it to me!” His voice roared in his office, I hand him the flash drive and walk out his office as I am leaving I count form 5...4...3...2...1...”BOOM!” The office juts out in flames as I ride the elevator I up I say, “I’m never here to stay.” I put on a pair of sunglasses that I happened to have found in his office.
